Adore You: A Whimsical Display Font That Elevates Brand Identity

Choosing the Right Typeface for a Boutique Skincare Brand

I recently opened a blank brand board for a new skincare client who wanted a soft, approachable, and slightly magical identity. The brand leans into natural ingredients and emotional wellness, so I needed a typeface that felt human, not corporate. That’s when I decided to test Adore You—a whimsical display font I had seen in design marketplaces but hadn’t yet used in a real project.

At first glance, the font felt like a warm hug. It has a gentle bounce and subtle irregularity that gives it a handmade charm, yet it’s clean enough to feel professional. I dropped it into the brand board for the wordmark concept, and right away, it set a tone that was both playful and sincere.

Visual Personality and Design Characteristics

Adore You is a display font, which means it’s best suited for short, impactful text rather than long paragraphs. Its letterforms are slightly rounded with a soft baseline bounce, giving it a lighthearted and expressive feel. The font avoids being overly cursive or script-heavy, making it more accessible than traditional handwritten styles.

What stood out during testing was its balance between whimsy and clarity. It doesn’t lean too far into fantasy or nostalgia, which makes it versatile for modern brands that still want to feel personable. It has a warm, approachable tone—ideal for brands in lifestyle, wellness, beauty, or creative niches.

Real-World Application: From Logo to Packaging Mockup

I used Adore You as the primary logo type for the skincare brand, pairing it with a clean sans serif for body text. The contrast worked beautifully—Adore You gave the logo a soft, emotional anchor while the sans serif grounded the identity with clarity and structure.

On packaging mockups, the font looked great on product labels and swing tags. I tested it on a body oil bottle and a linen pouch, and it translated well in both digital and print mockups. It’s especially effective when used at larger sizes, where its curves and character spacing can shine.

For a website header, I found it worked best as a hero text accent rather than a full navigation font. It’s not ideal for small UI elements or long form text, but as a headline or feature title, it brought a sense of warmth and authenticity that standard fonts often miss.

Strengths and Limitations in Design Contexts

Here’s where Adore You excels:

However, it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. Because it’s a display font, Adore You isn’t suited for:

It’s best used as a headline font, logo type, or accent typeface that supports a more neutral typographic system.

Font Pairing and Practical Use Tips

When pairing Adore You with other typefaces, I found it worked best with minimalist sans serifs like Montserrat, Lato, or even a warm serif like Playfair Display. The goal is to let the font breathe—don’t crowd it with other decorative elements.

Before locking it into the final brand system, I exported multiple mockups at different sizes and tested them in both digital and print environments. This helped me understand how it would scale across business cards, packaging, and social media assets.

Also, I checked the font package for stylistic alternates, ligatures, and multilingual support. It included a solid range of glyphs and was available in both desktop and webfont formats, which made it suitable for a complete brand rollout, including the client’s Shopify site.

Licensing and Commercial Use Considerations

One important note: always double-check the commercial licensing terms for any font you use in client work. With Adore You, the license allowed for use in logos, packaging, websites, and marketing materials—which covered the scope of the project. However, if you’re using it for merchandise, templates, or print-on-demand items, confirm that the license explicitly covers those uses.

Also, be aware of how many webfont pageviews or domains the license includes if you’re embedding it on a website. Some font licenses are limited, and exceeding those without proper upgrades can lead to legal issues down the line.
