Ausy: A Playful Display Font for Vibrant Brand Identities
Testing Ausy Across Brand Touchpoints
- Logo Design: Ausy worked beautifully as a logo typeface. The rounded edges gave it a soft, approachable feel that was perfect for a small business aiming to feel local and personable. I adjusted the letter spacing slightly to enhance legibility at smaller sizes, like on business cards.
- Packaging Mockup: On a product label mockup for custom cookie boxes, Ausy stood out with a cheerful presence. It helped the brand feel fun and youthful. However, I noticed that in all caps, the font started to lose some of its individual charm – better suited for mixed case or headline use.
- Social Media Graphics: For Instagram posts and story templates, Ausy was a hit. Its bold, open shapes translated well on screens, and the font’s personality shone through even in fast-scrolling feeds.
- Website Header: Used sparingly in a hero section, Ausy added a splash of character. I paired it with a clean sans serif for body text, which created a nice contrast and maintained readability.
When Ausy Works Best – And When It Doesn’t
- Body text in editorial design
- Small print like footnotes or legal disclaimers
- Corporate or formal branding projects
